Job Title: Small Plant Mechanic

Location: Colten House, Wellworthy Way, BH24 3FE

Salary: From £37,000

About the Role

Colten Developments are looking for a reliable and proactive individual to join our team as a Small Plant Mechanic. This is a varied, hands-on role combining equipment maintenance, fleet coordination, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

Small Tool Fitter Duties

• Carry out routine maintenance on small tools, pumps, generators, and plant machinery

• Perform repairs to ensure all company-owned equipment is safe and fit for purpose

• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently

Assistant Plant & Transport Manager Duties

• Source, negotiate, and manage hire plant and equipment rates

• Support the management of the company vehicle fleet

• Liaise with suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing for repairs and servicing

• Provide cover for the Plant & Transport Manager during absences (previous experience not essential)

General Duties

• Operate company 7.5-tonne vehicles (CPC preferred but not essential)

• Operate warehouse forklift truck
